Manchester United have been linked with a move for Club Brugge defender Joaquin Seys.

The 21-year-old left back is highly rated in Belgium, and he has a big future ahead of himself. Manchester United could use more depth in that area of the pitch, and they are reportedly keeping tabs on Seys. According to reports from Het Nieuwsblad, they have yet to contact the Belgian club about a move for the 21-year-old.

Man United yet to move for Joaquin Seys

It will be interesting to see if they follow up with an official proposal in the coming weeks. Manchester United need a long-term replacement for Luke Shaw and Seys could be a solid investment for the future. The young defender could be attracted to the idea of joining one of the biggest clubs in the world. It could help him improve further and fulfil his potential.

Meanwhile, Club Brugge manager Ivan Leko believes the defender has incredible potential, and he is proud that his players are being linked with the best clubs in the world. He also admitted that it will be difficult for the Belgian club to turn down a substantial offer for the young defender.

Seys could be sold for the right price

“In fact, I’m proud that my guys are being linked to those clubs,” he said to Het NieuwsBlad. “We chat about it every now and then. How much of those rumours is true? I don’t know. But we all have eyes in our heads: their potential is incredible. On the other hand, they remain consummate professionals and are happy here. The focus is entirely on OHL.” “If there’s a lot of money on the table, it’s obviously not easy to say no,” Leko explained.

His comments will certainly encourage Manchester United, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal across the line.
