Curt Schilling, a member of the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame, took to X and defended himself against a post from a New York Yankees fan on Friday. An X user by the name Jordan Weber posted a Wikipedia snapshot, which blamed the Red Sox legend for the January 6 U.S. Capitol attack. The snapshot also recalls his alleged repost of anti-semitic content, including discussion of the “Jewish Question” and claims about Jews dominating important sectors of society.

Being a Yankees fan, Weber was potentially taking a sly dig against former rival Schilling. However, the three-time World Series champion reacted to the fan to clear himself against such claims.

“Tell me you are an idiot without saying it. Linking to Wikipedia is the height of idiocy,” he wrote.

On September 25, 2023, Schilling reposted an X post by Angelo John Gage, which discussed the “Jewish Question.” However, he didn’t make any comments on that.

After receiving criticism from fans, Schilling went to X and denied antisemitic views and argued that people were incorrectly interpreting his repost.

“So I reposted this tweet, and I did so with way way too much apathy,” Schilling wrote. “It’s a generations-old conversation that’s been had to wit’s end. In talking to one of my boys, it is clear I shouldn’t have done so, with such a nonchalant attitude. I have had and always had many friends of differing dedication to their Jewish faith. I don’t possess an ounce of anti-Semitism; never have.

“Anyone who took this repost as some sort of endorsement of anti-semitism, you were wrong. I could have done a far better job of elaborating, given I didn’t elaborate even a little, and that’s on me, and I apologize to anyone who is a rational adult who thought I might have been endorsing some sort of anti-semitic opinion.”

Curt Schilling Recalls Previous “Harsh” Paul Skenes Take

Back in 2025, Curt Schilling made a harsh assessment of Paul Skenes, who was enjoying a splendid second season with the Pittsburgh Pirates and also ended up winning the Cy Young Award.

However, Schilling noted something most would miss. He suggested that unless Skenes tones down his effort, he won’t be able to manage the major league workload for long.

“Might be the worst take in history of a delivery,” Schilling said in Aug. 2025. “Paul Skenes is a max effort thrower. ‘Effortless without much strain?’ Hate to be harsh, but that was spoken as if you’ve never thrown a ball or don’t play the sport.

“Skenes’ mechanics will make it very hard for him to take on that workload unless he can tone down the effort. He won’t LOSE anything, but will gain long-term benefits.”

Fast-forward to Tuesday, and once again Paul Skenes’ fastball was not able to top 97 mph against the Miami Marlins. He was only there for 65 pitches and tossed five innings for one earned run.

Skenes’ velocity is dropping, and he no longer looks like the ace, especially in the second-half. Since May 12, he has not made a scoreless start. Schilling shared that his previous assessment of Skenes is proving to be correct.

“The Athletic has an article asking what’s wrong with Paul Skenes. Go back and check my social media BEFORE the WBC, and then the posts regarding his mechanics,” Schilling wrote. “I am not Carnac; I just did his job for a living and have studied it my entire life. This was predictable, and I predicted it.”

In 25 starts, Skenes is 9-11 with a 3.88 ERA this season. It remains to be seen if his velocity improves soon.
