In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Williams discussed how the
matchup materialized just days prior to the announcement.
“A couple days ago, pretty much,” Williams said. “Fighters fight,
man. So, it’s one of them things that, it just happened, man, and I
just took advantage of the opportunity. I know he’s dangerous. I
know what he’s capable of. I checked him out and that’s why I took
the fight. He got all this hype around him, man. He’s dangerous. I
mean, come on, a resume speaks for itself. I go get a guy like that
under my belt, now what?”
“I fear no man,” Williams added.
“We all bleed the same, we all
breathe the same and we’re just going to find out who wants it
more. When all that hype, all them names, all the expectation, all
that disappears, it’s just me and you. I know what I’m coming to
do.”
