The Tennessee Titans found themselves under heavy criticism after revoking the media credentials of reporter and podcaster Jared Stillman. This move came after Stillman had a rather unpleasant exchange with franchise quarterback Cam Ward last week.
On Tuesday, Stillman posted on X to confirm that the Tennessee Titans called and banned him, backing up Titans beat reporter Paul Kuharsky’s original report. Stillman, on his podcast “Stillman & Co.” said,
“So, the news is out today. I got a call from the Tennessee Titans, and I believe it was a professional call, but it was an uncomfortable call nonetheless.”
He claimed the franchise argued that as a YouTuber, he doesn’t need the same locker-room access as daily beat reporters.
“Their logic was what I do as a YouTuber does not require media access from the team,” he said. “I’m not a daily beat writer and I’m not on local radio anymore.”
The Titans maintained that the ban was due to his overall reporting style, rather than just his viral clash with Cam Ward this week.
“The Titans told me that this wasn’t about one singular instance, though I think a lot of people are going to assume that it’s about what happened on Thursday with Cam Ward,” Stillman said.

Jared Stillman’s Argument With Titans QB Cam Ward
Vols reporter Ryan Schumpert supported Stillman, slammed the decision as embarrassing, and called the Titans organization “soft.”
“Shameful move. What a soft franchise,” he wrote on X.
Kuharsky, who broke the story, expressed his take on the team’s heavy-handed decision:
“Stillman’s style and methods make him an easy test case,” Kuharsky wrote. “That’s also what makes this worth watching. A credentialing standard matters most when it’s applied to someone whose coverage or conduct a team doesn’t like. Without the Titans explaining what standard Stillman violated, it’s impossible to know whether this was enforcement of a legitimate credentialing policy or punishment of an irritating critic.”
This media storm erupted right after Stillman’s recent argument with quarterback Cam Ward. Last week, Stillman pressed Ward to grade his own play during the preseason. Ward shut him down immediately,
“I’m glad you don’t think so,” Ward said. “That’s good.”
Losing his press pass means Stillman’s show will lack direct, on-the-record reactions from the team. The Titans organization has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
Is this a fair policy or just a franchise silencing an annoying critic? Only time will shed more light on it.
