Hyundai has introduced a new Lounge Edition for the Creta, Creta Electric and Alcazar in India. Based on the respective SUVs’ higher-spec variants, the new edition brings additional rear-seat equipment along with cosmetic changes to the exterior and interior.

The biggest feature addition across all three models is an 11.6-inch rear entertainment display, while the Alcazar Lounge Edition also gets a new five-seat configuration. Until now, Hyundai’s three-row SUV was available with six- and seven-seat layouts.

Hyundai Lounge Edition: price and variants

The Lounge Edition is offered on specific variants of the three SUVs and carries a premium over the standard versions on which it is based.

The Creta Lounge Edition is available with the 1.5-litre petrol-CVT and 1.5-litre diesel-automatic powertrains. Prices are Rs. 19.22 lakhs and Rs. 20.31 lakhs, respectively.

The Alcazar Lounge Edition uses the 1.5-litre diesel-automatic powertrain and is priced at Rs. 21.81 lakhs. Its five-seat configuration means the premium varies depending on whether it is compared with the six- or seven-seat Signature variant.

For the electric SUV, the Creta Electric Lounge Edition is based on the Excellence Long Range variant with the 51.4kWh battery and costs Rs. 24.34 lakhs.

All prices are ex-showroom.

Rear-seat entertainment system added

The main equipment upgrade on the Lounge Edition is an 11.6-inch screen for rear passengers. The system supports OTT content streaming, smartphone mirroring and gaming.

Hyundai says the system also provides access to applications through a dedicated app store. This addition is aimed primarily at improving the experience for passengers in the second row, while the other equipment remains broadly aligned with the respective donor variants.

The three SUVs also receive white ambient lighting as part of the Lounge Edition package.

New Golden Bronze colour and black exterior elements

The Lounge Edition introduces a Golden Bronze exterior paint option across the Creta, Creta Electric and Alcazar. Buyers can continue to choose from the other colours available with the respective models.

Hyundai has also added several black-finished exterior elements. These include the alloy wheels, front and rear skid plates, ORVMs, roof-mounted spoiler, roof rails and C-pillar garnish.

Wheel sizes remain unchanged, with the Creta and Alcazar using 18-inch wheels, while the Creta Electric continues with 17-inch wheels.

Revised cabin design

Inside, all three Lounge Edition models feature an all-black dashboard complemented by silver-coloured detailing around the air-conditioning vents.

The SUVs also get revised seat upholstery referred to by Hyundai as the ‘Lounge seat design pattern’. The headrest cushions carry Lounge branding.

The Alcazar gets the most significant functional change, with the Lounge Edition adding a five-seat layout to the model’s existing six- and seven-seat configurations. This effectively gives buyers the option of prioritising second-row space and utility over the additional seating capacity.

How much more does the Lounge Edition cost?

The Creta Lounge Edition costs Rs. 53,000 more than the corresponding King variants, irrespective of whether the petrol-CVT or diesel-automatic powertrain is selected.

The Creta Electric Lounge Edition carries a Rs. 67,000 premium over the Excellence Long Range variant.

For the Alcazar, the Lounge Edition’s Rs. 21.81 lakhs price is Rs. 71,000 higher than the six-seat Signature and Rs. 90,000 higher than the seven-seat Signature.

The new edition therefore primarily adds equipment and styling changes rather than introducing mechanical revisions. The powertrain specifications remain unchanged from the variants on which the Lounge Edition is based.
