GREER, S.C. (WSPA) - It's the most wonderful time of the year in the Carolinas: high school football season! With the 2026 season inching closer, the Greer Yellow Jackets are previewed ahead of kickoff on Friday August 28 at Union County.

The Greer Yellow Jackets will again rely on its run game and why not? Calvin McCoy carried for 1600 yards and 20 TDs last season and four offensive linemen are also back. QB Xavier Sammet started the second half of his freshmen season and has targets like DJ Hicks, Zay Moseley, and Zion Nunez, but McCoy is where the conversation starts.
Linebacker Tyler Hanson and defensive end Anias Smith lead in the front seven while the secondary is on the younger side.
