Hiren Sanghvi will replace her as head of markets and securities services in India, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing private matters. Mishra will be moving in coming days and will report to the global head of markets and securities services, the people said. A spokesperson for HSBC confirmed the moves.
The staff changes come after Rahul Badhwar left HSBC to join JPMorgan Chase & Co. earlier this year. Mishra has been with HSBC for more than 16 years, according to her LinkedIn profile
Sanghvi, who is currently the head of trading at HSBC India, has been with the UK bank since 2005, according to his LinkedIn profile. Mishra and Sanghvi didn't respond to calls and texts seeking comment.
HSBC is a major player in India's debt markets. The lender was recently said to have deployed at least $3 billion in bonds after garnering heavy inflows under the nation's recent capital-raising windows. The bank has surpassed global peers in attracting funds under that program.
Global interest in India's $1.3-trillion sovereign debt market has grown over the past few years, with the country being included in several international emerging-market bond indexes. Foreign purchases of index-eligible bonds have risen by $6.5 billion so far this year, according to clearinghouse data.
