The Charlotte Hornets have officially made their fourth trade of the offseason, dealing for Dennis Schroder from the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to Shams Charania. Cleveland is sending Schroder and cash to Charlotte in return for backup point guard Tre Mann.
Charlotte will now be Schroder's 12th NBA franchise as he enters his 14th season. Last year, between the Kings and Cavaliers, he averaged 10.8 points, 4.9 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 0.8 steals. As for Mann, he was much less effective, scoring a career-low 5.5 points per game to go along with 1.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists.
Despite never playing for the Hornets, the move marks a reunion for Schroder in many ways, teaming back up with Charlotte general manager Jeff Peterson, who was with the Atlanta Hawks, where Schroder spent his first five NBA seasons from 2013 to 2018. Additionally, Schroder will be able to team up with two of his German international teammates, rookies Christian Anderson Jr. and Hannes Steinbach.
