Texas A&M's 11th preseason practice took place on Tuesday afternoon, and after Saturday's closed scrimmage, redshirt junior quarterback Marcel Reed's improved play continues to be a focus, while the Aggies' revamped defensive line, now featuring Northwestern transfer Edge Anto Saka, possesses the size, strength, and depth to pick up where the 2025 unit left off. On Monday, the first preseason AP Top 25 Poll was released, placing Texas A&M at No. 8, matching their US LBM Coaches Poll ranking, which, of course, spurred plenty of criticism from several national analysts, including CBS Sports' Brad Crawford and Richard Johnson, who feel the Aggies are "overrated" after losing 15 starters, especially star wide receiver KC Concepcion, who was selected 24th overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, this is the case for nearly every team in the Top 25; until the games are played, calling a team "overrated" or "elite" is overblown and inaccurate. Through 11 preseason practices, it's abundantly clear that if A&M's four new offensive line starters find chemistry, Marcel Reed and his elite wide receiver rotation are on track to dominate this fall. On Tuesday, Reed continued to connect with his wide receiver corps, and senior linebacker Daymion Sanford, who is nearly 100% healed after suffering a fibula injury during the Maroon & White Game, has not let up one bit since the start of fall camp.
