Here’s a look at the football jamborees slated for this week

The 2026 Louisiana high school football season will kickoff in dramatic fashion this week with jamboree contests across the region involving almost every .

Byrd and Captain Shreve will be among the teams starting the weekend on Thursday at Lee Hedges with game times moved back an hour earlier than previous seasons. Huntington and Northwood will also test each other’s mettle Thursday at Independence Stadium. Most of the action will be on Friday night with a couple of big jamborees stretching into Saturday.
