The Miami Heat are looking for the final player to fill out their roster after what has been a long offseason. Miami is hoping to make a run to the NBA Finals in what is now a jam-packed Eastern Conference. There have been several ideas floated around about a guard filling the final roster spot. Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra and Bam Adebayo have reportedly been advocating for the team to sign Gabe Vincent. “I would expect them to go guard for one of their final spots, I think a Gabe Vincent reunion there makes a lot of sense, especially since Bam Adebayo and Erik Spoelstra have been big advocates for him ever since Summer League. I would think that it is very likely at this point that they would give that to Gabe Vincent if he’s willing to take a minimum (contract) there. I would expect them to go guard for one of their final spots. I think that Gabe Vincent, a reunion there makes a lot of sense,” NBA insider Brett Siegel said. Vincent is now looking for a fresh start after being traded away from Los Angeles at the deadline. “The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired guard Luke Kennard from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for guard Gabe Vincent and a 2032 second-round pick, the team announced on Thursday night," ESPN wrote. As a Laker, Vincent struggled to stay healthy and was never able to consistently establish himself in the rotation. While some within Miami would reportedly like to see him return, Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer believes that a reunion is unlikely. “I do think the former Heat guard Gabe Vincent has some fans in this building and some fans on that roster who would love for him to be back into the fold, right now it’s looking like Miami is not a outcome for Gabe Vincent. But I do think Miami’s roster isn’t exactly done and the guard position will be something they look at moving forward,” Fischer said. That is not great news for some within the Heat organization, as Vincent is believed to be one of the most wanted additions for the final roster spot. For whatever reason, however, Miami appears to be heading in a different direction. Vincent has made $37 million in his career so far. That makes the situation even more surprising considering he remains a fan favorite in Miami and appears to have plenty of support within the organization. More NBA news:
