The defense intercepted Drake Maye three times in the fourth quarter, including the game-sealing pick in the end zone. Meanwhile, Lock delivered when Seattle needed him. His biggest moment came on a fourth-down completion to Jaxon Smith-Njigba that helped set up the comeback.
That’s not all. The Seahawks also have vibrant continuity around him. Smith-Njigba led the offense with eight receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown in the opener. As Cosell explains, Lock does not need to transform into an elite quarterback for Seattle to remain competitive. Instead, he needs to execute within the structure, avoid unnecessary mistakes, and maintain clarity when pressure arrives.
That counsel will become even more important if Seattle has already confirmed that Lock can handle the moment, but sustaining that level over multiple games presents a different challenge.
