The Georgia Bulldogs are still going after a couple of more names in the 2027 class on the recruiting trail, but barring another flip or two, the group is largely complete at this point. Recruiting wise, the page is largely already being turned to 2028, and with two great prospects already in the fold in No. 1 quarterback Jayden Wade as well as top-ten tight end Asa Wall, the race is on to finish a whole lot higher in next year's rankings. The Bulldogs have some names they are already being heavily connected to, and some recruiting insiders are already calling their shot. According to some intel from Jeremy Johnson at UGASports of On3, he is confident in Kirby Smart and the staff to land one of their top targets. It's four-star top-ten linebacker out of Cornelius, North Carolina Ryan Peterson. Georgia Projected to Land Ryan Peterson Over Florida, Alabama "The Bulldogs need to continue to stack the inside linebacker position," Johnson wrote, pointing out that the Bulldogs will be a whole lot more thin at the spot a year from now. "Peterson has been an early priority. There’s a lot of love from Georgia going to the four-star prospect." Ultimately, all of these 2028 prospects have a long way to go in the cycle and will not take their official visits until next spring, but Georgia getting ahead here feels like a huge victory early in the process for an out-of-state prospect everyone seems to value highly. With some of the top recruiting programs in the nation after Peterson, getting him in the building is just as valuable as keeping him away from hated rivals. Should the Bulldogs be able to land his commitment, it would be the latest in a long line of great linebackers in Athens. What Kind of Skillset Peterson Would Bring to Georgia Currently rated by 247 Composite rankings just outside the top-100 players in the nation, Peterson is a top-ten linebacker in the nation and top-ten player in the entire state of North Carolina. Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 220 pounds, he has another two full seasons in high school to continue to grow and develop, which could push him a whole lot further up the board than he is currently ranked. Ultimately, this is a linebacker who is already technically sound, and getting him in the building could mean some absolutely massive things for the room as a whole. There's a very long way to go, but it sounds like the Bulldogs are off to a great start at doing exactly that.
