LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Lexington Catholic football has opened its 2026 season in impressive fashion, remaining undefeated through two weeks with a 2-0 record. But it's not just the spotless record that stands out. The Knights have allowed just one touchdown in 96 minutes of play, and that score came on a scoop-and-score.

The defense also powered Lexington Catholic to a shutout victory over Paul Laurence Dunbar last week, while the offense capitalized on its opportunities by putting up 47 points. The strengths the Knights have displayed on both sides of the ball will face their biggest test yet this week as they take on Boyle County. The Rebels also enter the matchup undefeated at 2-0. "The defense played really, really well," Lexington Catholic head coach David Clark said. "That's kind of the focus of this team, being able to play really good defense. For the offense to be able to capitalize when opportunities come about, and to help our defense out, we need to sustain drives, move the football, control the clock and just play good old-fashioned football."
"Just trying to keep our principles and do what we do," senior receiver and defensive back Ethan Bradford said. "Don't worry too much about the other team. Our defense has obviously shown what we can do through the first two games, and we're just going to keep doing that. Last year was a great game.
