Florida State punter Daniel Hughes has been named to the Ray Guy Award preseason watchlist, one of 21 specialists named by the Augusta Sports Council ahead of the season.
Hughes, who transferred to FSU this offseason from New Mexico, was a semifinalist for the award in 2025.
With the Lobos, Hughes punted 41 times for 1,863 yards and an average of 45.4 yards, with 13 punts inside the 20-yard line and 13 punts traveling at least 50 yards, earning an All-Mountain West honorable mention spot.
Hughes began his American football career at City College of San Francisco in 2024, having previously played with the Northern Bullants (an Australian Rules Football club).
