The updated USA TODAY Florida Network top 100 is out, but no list of the state's top senior football recruits is without its controversy or disagreements.

There was agreement that St. Thomas Aquinas offensive tackle Mark Matthews should remain in the top spot.

And that's it.

Just about every other player and rank came with arguments, sometimes very passionate arguments.

As it is with any list, it was frustrating to leave players off. And, while it is our list, we're not afraid to say who we think got snubbed.

USA TODAY Florida Network recruiting reporters Jon Santucci and Nick Wilson each gave the top five players they think should have been on the top 100.

Duke Carpenter, Geneva School EDGE

Yes, Geneva School doesn't play the toughest competition, so there are some questions about just how dominant he'll be at the next level based on the film. But the size (6-foot-5, 245 pounds) is real, as are the raw tools. Like the fit at Stanford, too. — Santucci

Jermari Foreman, West Boca S

The 'Noles got a good one in Foreman, who is one of the more technically sound defensive backs in the state. Foreman covers the field exceptionally well, punishes bad passes, and has impressive vision and hands. At 6-foot and 180-pounds, Foreman has the size and skill to be a Power-4 safety. — Wilson

Carol City running back Arwin Jackson (1) stiff arms West Boca defensive back Loia Valade (9) on Aug. 14, 2026, in Boca Raton, FL.

Arwin Jackson, Carol City RB

Jackson can play. I'm not sure if he's a bit overlooked because he was behind Derrek Cooper on the depth chart at Chaminade before this season or that he's committed to Appalachian State instead of a Power 4 school, but those things don't matter. He's the got the speed to be a home run threat and catches the ball well out of the backfield. — Santucci

Nino Joseph, Miami Central RB

There are few players in the state with the numbers Joseph has, and now he's playing for a nationally-renowned program for his senior campaign. He plays above his size at 5-8, with an 185-pound frame that moves with impressive explosiveness and power. — Wilson

Zaquan Linton, Palm Beach Central OT

Offensive tackle Zaquan Linton at Palm Beach Central football practice in Wellington, Florida on August, 7, 2026.

Linton, now a Colorado commit, has prototypical tackle size at 6-5 and 295 pounds. He has impressive mobility for the position, and all the foundations of a legit starting tackle at the next level after a few seasons on campus. — Wilson

Nazir Pitchford, Manatee ATH

Pitchford is legit, and eight-time Super Bowl winner Bill Belichick agrees. The North Carolina commit shined both ways for Palmetto last year, but will likely play corner at the next level. He's a lengthy, disruptive defender that can stay attached in coverage, and he has all the key physical attributes at 6-1 and 175 pounds. — Wilson

Tyler Reid, St. Thomas Aquinas RB

Aquinas running back Tyler Reid (#20) slips through the grasp of Mooney defender Marvon Harris and heads to the end zone. The Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School Cougars hosted the St. Thomas Aquinas High School Raiders in their first football game of the season Friday, Aug. 14, 2026 in Sarasota.

Pitt has absolutely nailed some of their evaluations on Florida prospects, and Reid might just be the next hit. He's a devasting speedster with an elite second gear, and being one of the main options of a Roger Harriot offense is not for the feeble. Reid's size (5-8, 170 pounds) has played a factor in his recruitment, but there's no denying that he can flat-out run the ball at a high level. — Santucci

Noah Robinson, Jones DL

I know some like him as an edge, but I think he'll make a bigger impact as an interior lineman at the next level. He moves really well and he's got some nastiness to his game. The UCF commit is a load for guards to handle because of his quickness and strength. — Santucci

Marcus Small, First Coast OT

Small has a massive frame at 6-7 and 295 pounds. And while that is his calling card, it's not just his size. He moves people. Syracuse is getting a lineman, similar to former Melbourne Central Catholic's Javeion Cooper, who can make his initial block and get to the second and third level. — Santucci

Jared Zames, Berkeley Prep EDGE

The 6-4, 240-pound Zames is a real problem. He's long, physical, sets the edge very well against the run and does a good job of working his way to the quarterback. Northwestern is getting a really good player. — Santucci
