Fever's Aliyah Boston is the latest to come to Stephanie White's defense originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here. Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White remains under fire after an impassioned monologue that she gave Tuesday prompted significant debate online -- and saw Fever fans boo their own head coach ahead of a win over the New York Liberty. Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham defended White after their coach slammed outside actors who sought to capitalize on controversy surrounding Cunningham -- from her comments about transgender athletes to a flagrant foul incident with Chicago's DiJonai Carrington. Indiana hosts the Dallas Wings on Friday in a game that is vital to both teams' potential playoff seeding -- and Fever center Aliyah Boston does not want to hear any more booing from the hometown fans.

"To hear that, it was really annoying, honestly, and disrespectful."#Fever center Aliyah Boston on the boos that head coach Stephanie White received on Tuesday: pic.twitter.com/gmUAbTun49 — WISH-TV News (@WISHNews8) August 13, 2026 "There's no reason for any of that," Boston said Thursday from Fever practice. "We come out here and we do everything that we can to win. Steph does a great job with us, and we love her and appreciate her." Boston, a four-time All-Star, went on to call the booing "annoying and disrespectful," but the Fever will try to "keep the main thing, the main thing." White has led the Fever to a 21-12 record in 2026, and Indiana is on track to have the most efficient offense in WNBA history. The Fever is averaging 117.1 points per 100 possessions, which would be a league record if the season ended today. More WNBA news:
