Fernando Alonso gave a one-word answer about a WEC option for 2027, as he talks about his F1 future and drivers visiting to meet Lawrence Stroll.
Having disclosed that there would be a decision in the summer of 2026, Alonso has so far delayed it, with nothing ready to be announced immediately. His main issue remains the F1 regulations rather than the performance of Honda, as said by him multiple times.

Yes, so no urgency,” said Alonso, before adding that his future depends on how F1 shapes up from the current “battery championship” to something where driver input is higher.“I think it’s a matter of understanding what the rules from next year will have an impact or not on the racing and on the driving side of things,” continued Alonso. “I think the current cars, as I said many times, are not the best cars to drive and to enjoy.
“But next year there is a step, I think, in the right direction, hopefully. But, yes, at the same time, I need to think what is the best programme for next year and sit with the team. Behind the wheel or in another role, where I will be helping the most, that will be the most important thing to decide together.”
