Fresh from beating Meppen last weekend in the Bundesliga, a total of 19 FC Bayern Women players went to join up with their national teams for the April international break.

Germany face South American champions

Lina Magull, Klara Bühl, Lea Schüller, Mala Grohs and Sydney Lohmann make it five FCB players called up for Germany. Carolin Simon was nominated but had to withdraw due to her ongoing muscular problem. Germany will take on the Netherlands in Sittard on 7 April before hosting Brazil in Nuremberg on 11 April. Bayern’s Tainara was selected for the Selecao but had to pull out due to an ankle issue. Sarah Zadrazil and Austria host Belgium (7 April) and the Czech Republic (11 April).

Three Icelanders to face New Zealand and Switzerland

Bayern’s Icelandic trio of Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir, Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir and Karólína Lea Vilhjálmsdóttir will take on World Cup hosts New Zealand on 7 April before facing Switzerland on 11 April. Saki Kumagai and Japan have fixtures against Portugal and Denmark on the same dates.

A Bayern representative in first Finalissima

The women’s version of the Finalissima between the champions of Europa and South America is also taking place during this international window. It sees Bayern’s Georgia Stanway and England take on Brazil at Wembley on 6 April. The Lionesses follow that game with a fixture against Australia on 11 April.

Serbia, Croatia and Norway

Jovana Damnjanović and Serbia first take on Bosnia and Herzegovina on 7 April before they play South Africa on 10 April. Bayern’s Ivana Rudelić has been called up for Croatia to contest a double header against Greece on the same days. January signing Tuva Hansen and Norway will face Spain (6 April) and Sweden (11 April). Emilie Bragstad is with Norway’s U23s as they host Belgium (6 April) and then play against Italy (10 April).

Euro qualifiers for Germany U19s

Bayern are also represented in Germany’s U19 squad by Laura Gloning, Franziska Kett and Dafina Redzepi. While most of their teammates are playing friendlies in April, the U19s have qualifiers for the European Championship against Ireland (5 April), Croatia (8 April) and Norway (11 April).
