Max Verstappen’s dramatic crash during the opening lap of the Dutch Grand Prix brought the race to a lengthy pause. The way the camera angles seamlessly switch from the trackside camera to the onboard camera suggests that AI-generated transitions may have been used in the edit, and fans tare quite impressed by it.
Unfortunately for Verstappen, this was F1’s last race at his home venue in Zandvoort, and despite starting the race from P7, there was a good chance of him making it into the top three, especially with a damp track in the early stages of the race. However, the Dutchman spun out on the wet patch and crashed into the barriers just after the banked Turn 14.
While Verstappen was okay, the same could not be said about the car, which suffered severe damage, and with debris strewn around the track, the race had to be red-flagged before the track could be cleared. The race eventually restarted on a track that had mostly dried up, with Lando Norris going on to win, followed by Kimi Antonelli in second, and George Russell in third.
