It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means… time for the blog that gives you the internet’s most ridiculous college football preview series- it’s #FakeNunes time. Is this series played out, or can we find something to take it to a New Level?
Now onto this week’s opponent
Opponent: New Hampshire Wildcats
Location: Durham, NH
Students: 14,784 students who are glad it’s futbol season
The 2026 Fake Nunes Statistical Index (#FNSI)
We continue to look to innovate our analytics model so we here’s what the lab cooked up for this season.
Rivalry Trophy
The FNSI staff won’t give up on their quest to bring back more tradition into today’s college game. Let’s see what they’ve got for this one
The Granite Clipboard
New Hampshire’s the Granite State. UNH is the alma mater of George O’Leary, Chip Kelly and Ryan Day, so shouldn’t the winner take home a rectangular granite block shaped like a clipboard?
Jersey Boys
In our quest to be New York and New Jersey’s College Team, we’ll once again compare players from the Garden State.
The Wildcats have eight players from New Jersey including former Orange linebacker Fatim Diggs, but that’s one short of the nine that Fran Brown has on his roster.
Advantage: Syracuse
Notable Alum
The time in the preview where the FNSI staff decides to drop some science and kick a bit of knowledge to help our loyal readers win a trivia night.
Mike O’Malley vs T. J. Jagodowski
Yes, “The Rick” of ESPN commercial fame is a UNH alum and we’re going to put him up against Syracuse alum Jagodowski, who was part of Sonic’s “Two Guys” ad campaign. Unfortunately, an Emmy nomination for O’Malley tilts this one in his favor.
Advantage: New Hampshire
America Runs On
A new comparison tool this year. FNSI staff believe that the number of Dunkin’s locations in the school’s city can impact performance. Durham, NH has two locations while Syracuse has 19.
Advantage: Syracuse
Fran Brown Hat Tracker
Will Fran break out some new lids this season? He bounced around a bunch last year and never found a winner like he had with the D.A.R.T. lid in 2024.

The Official #FakeNunes Game Prediction
New Hampshire let UAlbany’s Great Danes get some great gains on the ground last week. This week they sell out with a nine-man box and Steve Angeli lights up the secondary on his way to a 250 yard first half. New Hampshire then switches to a 2-3-6 alignment but the Orange play keep away on the ground and avenge Coach Mac’s soccer squad.
Final Score: Syracuse 47, New Hampshire 8
