
Addressing the eighth Collectors’ conference on Thursday, Mr. Naidu said projects cleared by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) should be grounded without delay and their commencement dates fixed. Ministers and elected representatives should work with district administrations to ensure projects take off, he said.
In 20 SIPB meetings, the State has cleared 359 projects involving ₹13.85 lakh crore in investments and the potential to generate 10.6 lakh jobs. Of these, 160 projects have already commenced, involving ₹4.03 lakh crore and the potential to provide 5.9 lakh jobs.
Mr. Naidu said investment summits would be held in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Amaravati, Anantapur and Tirupati this year. Regional investment conferences would be organised in October, followed by the 2026 Partnership Summit in November.
Growth rate
Officials said Andhra Pradesh’s estimated growth rate for 2026-27 at current prices stood at 13.44%, with 2022-23 as the base year. GVA growth in agriculture and allied sectors reached 14.19% in the first quarter, while industry and services recorded 14.81% and 12.70%, respectively.Aquaculture registered 31.77% growth, with production reaching 6.61 lakh metric tonnes. Power generation rose from 24,248 million units to 28,664 million units, while consumption increased 14.28%. Industrial GVA stood at ₹1,13,638 crore and services GVA at ₹1,60,107 crore. GST revenue rose 18%.
MSME investments
The State has 23.85 lakh MSMEs across manufacturing, services and trade, officials said. Of 175 MSME parks, 138 had been approved, 22 had commenced operations and 116 were under construction. The parks are expected to attract ₹2,036 crore investment and generate 31,163 jobs.Mr. Naidu also directed officials to notify existing helipads and link them with tourism, seek Central approval for night-landing facilities at district headquarters and prepare action plans for road ove-rbridges and under-bridges.
