Ex-Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is now in charge of AC Milan -Credit:Giuseppe Cottini, AC Milan via Getty Images Ruben Amorim claims he "feels nothing for Manchester United" following his victory over his former employers in a preseason encounter over the weekend. The Portuguese tactician was dismissed by the Red Devils in January before being appointed by AC Milan this summer, with the preseason fixture list bringing the two clubs together in Poland at the weekend. Milan secured a convincing 4-2 victory as Amorim got one over on his old side. The Serie A club had endured a difficult preseason, suffering a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea recently as Amorim struggled to make the impression he had anticipated, but he secured a much-needed result against the Premier League heavyweights, via The Mirror.

Amorim told Sky Sport Italia: "No. For me, it was just a normal match. Since I signed with Milan, I've felt nothing about Manchester United. I'm just proud to have been at Man United and I still love the club, but after signing with Milan, I [feel] nothing bad about anything because I'm very happy, because I'm in the place where I want to be. I just want to continue here. "Of course, it was special to play against them again, but I wanted to win a game this preseason to present ourselves well in our league, to give a good image to our fans, so they can support us in our first match." Appointed in November 2024, Amorim would go on to oversee the club's worst-ever Premier League finish, finishing in 15th place during a season in which they managed just 11 victories. He would also suffer defeat in the UEFA Europa League Final before being dismissed the following year. "It is hard to explain the mistakes as I would have to explain all the context of the last adventure," he said. "The only thing I can say is that I learn a lot and I did some mistakes. "I didn't have [the] opportunity - and I am sorry for that - to say something to the Manchester United fans at the moment [but] I am really proud to have been their coach for a year."
