Mark Walter sold his majority stake in the Los Angeles Lakers to John Kushner and Bob Iger in a record-breaking deal last week.

Walter purchased the Lakers from the Buss family at a $10 billion valuation just 14 months ago, and the team is now worth $12.5 billion.

Walter’s sale has started rumours that he will soon sell his other sports teams, including MLB, WNBA and Premier League clubs.

Mark Walter’s remaining sports empire after LA Lakers sale

Mark Walter is best known for owning the Los Angeles Dodgers, who have won the last two World Series.

He is also part of a six-man investment group that owns the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks alongside Lakers legend Magic Johnson.

Meanwhile, Walter owns a 12.8% stake in Premier League club Chelsea, as well as their French sister club, Strasbourg.

Walter reportedly owns half of his holding company’s (TWG Global) 51% majority share in the Cadillac F1 Team.

The 66-year-old is the single primary financial backer of the 12-team Professional Women’s Hockey League in North America.

Finally, Walter owns a minority stake in the Billie Jean King Cup, the annual women’s international team tennis tournament.

The next teams that Walter will sell are likely to be Chelsea and Strasbourg, as he and Todd Boehly are looking to sell their respective 12.8% stakes.
