The Wildcats won't mind the ride.
In fact, coach Jerry Sinz sees the long trip to Mondovi as an opportunity.

The scouting report is the overwhelming topic of discussion.
You won't find many cell phones out, but what you can see is teammates focused, like in a classroom setting, studying and pushing each other to be sharp come game time.
“We’ll have two linebackers sitting next to one another, two guards, two running backs, quarterbacks and so on,” Sinz said. “They’ll have their scouting report, and they’ll kind of quiz each other: ‘OK, if they do this, what are we going to do?’ Or, ‘If this happens, what are we going to do?’’
It's a straight-forward trip.
The Wildcats won't stop for food, and will have meals prepared in order to meet their pre-game road ritual of arriving at the opposing field at 5:00 p.m.
Then it's showtime.
Sinz hopes by the time they make it back to Edgar around 12 a.m., the Wildcats would have taken another step toward once again putting themselves into position to be one of the last teams standing.
Last year’s state semifinal triumph over the Buffaloes means little heading into Week 4, the 2026 Edgar team feels they still have much to prove.
“Now, Mondovi being the No. 1-rated team in Division 6, if we can play a competitive game with them once again, it’s like, ‘OK, hopefully we can compete at this level,” Sinz said. “And then, if we can keep improving and get a little healthier, maybe by the end of the year we can make a run again.”
