Doc Rivers boldly claims he belongs in the Hall of Fame with Erik Spoelstra and Steve Kerr originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here. While Glenn "Doc" Rivers is no longer coaching a team, he has an impressive resume. He has coached a lot of teams throughout his career, but the stint with the Boston Celtics remains his best one. He won a championship with them, as he led the Big Three to end their drought back in 2008.  Over the years, he has coached plenty of teams, including the Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Milwaukee Bucks. Throughout all those stints, Rivers led some good teams. They might not have a championship, but they were always competitive.  Doc Rivers believes he, Erik Spoelstra, and Steve Kerr deserve to be Hall of Famers Despite his success, Rivers does have a lot of stinkers during his coaching career. That has made him the target of criticism for a lot of people, but he does refute them with his consistency throughout the years. He was still one of the league's best coaches, but it seems that is not the case anymore. He has plenty of peers throughout his time in the league, but those who can match his longevity have impressive legacies. The two that stand out in the current landscape are the Miami Heat's Erik Spoelstra and the Golden State Warriors' Steve Kerr. MORE: Doc Rivers breaks his silence following his Bucks exit In fact, Rivers believes that all three of them belong in the Basketball Hall of Fame together. He even thinks that they should get inducted as soon as possible because he wants NBA coaches to be on the same level of recognition as the coaches from Team USA and college. "I just felt like Steve Kerr, myself, Spo, should be Hall of Famers. College coaches get to coach and be called ‘Hall of Fame coach.’ But NBA coaches rarely get that," Rivers said to Andscape about his and his peers' legacies as head coaches in the league.  While some people might not respond kindly to that, Rivers does have a resume that could land him in the Hall of Fame. The same can be said about the other two, as they are all coaches that got the best out of star-laden rosters. It might be unpopular that Rivers gets that nod, but he definitely has an argument.
