Missouri tennis continues building toward its future, and its latest commitment brings another accomplished international player into the Tigers’ growing recruiting picture.
Camila Rodero, an 18-year-old from Chile, verbally committed to Missouri following her official visit last week. Rodero, who holds a Universal Tennis Rating of 10.12, is expected to join the Tigers in the fall of 2027.
While the commitment cannot become official until the November signing period opens, Rodero already represents another important recruiting victory for Robin Goodman and his staff. Associate head coach Manny Raga played a significant role throughout the process, maintaining extensive communication with Rodero and her family as Missouri worked to secure the highly touted international prospect.
Rodero arrives with a résumé that should make her one of the most exciting additions to the program.
She owns an ITF junior career-high ranking of No. 65, reached in March, and has also competed at the professional level. Rodero’s WTA career highs include No. 1,182 in singles and No. 984 in doubles. Her ability to compete across both junior and professional events gives Missouri a player who has already experienced tennis beyond the traditional junior circuit.
Her recruiting story is also continuing on one of tennis’ biggest stages.
Rodero is scheduled to compete in the U.S. Open junior tournament, giving her another opportunity to test herself against some of the best young players in the world before eventually making the transition to college tennis.
For Missouri, the commitment is another sign of the program’s increasingly international recruiting approach. Goodman inherited a program in transition and immediately began constructing a new roster and coaching staff. Now, the Tigers are beginning to look beyond the immediate future and toward the players who could shape the program several years from now.
Rodero will not arrive in Columbia until 2027, but Missouri’s investment in her recruitment shows the staff is thinking long term.
With Raga playing a major role in building the relationship with Rodero and her family, the Tigers have landed a commitment from a player with proven experience on the international stage. The next step will come in November when she can officially sign.
For now, Missouri has another reason to believe the foundation of the Goodman era continues to grow, one international commitment at a time.
