The defense was a clear winner on Day 15 of Cleveland Browns training camp, but a pivotal joint practice with the Buffalo Bills looms large on Thursday.  Keep tabs on each day of training camp with our daily recaps from Berea. Day 15 Headlines Quarterbacks Tuesday felt like more of the same for the Browns' top two quarterbacks. There were some good moments, some bad moments and a whole lot of taking what the defense was giving them.  Deshaun Watson was back with the first team and tried to make the most of his reps, but was under pressure quite a bit throughout practice. There were at least three likely sacks during his various 11-on-11 work.  He and Shedeur Sanders both had strong 7-on-7 sessions (as they should) with one incompletion each. But Watson's best session probably came during a third/fourth-and-short situation where he tossed the only touchdown of the day on a corner route to Isaiah Bond. Watson converted two other short-yardage pass plays as well.  Sanders also dealt with plenty of pressure throughout practice, getting sacked at least twice. The third round of 11-on-11s was probably his strongest session of the day, where he completed three pass attempts, including a beautiful slot fade to Gage Larvadain. The fourth play of that series was a sack.  Dillon Gabriel saw a little more action than he did on Monday, but remains firmly third in the order. One of his best throws of the day came during that third 11-on-11 session, via a strike to Cole Wilson on an in route.  Browns Film Study: QBs Show Positive Signs ut Work to do in Week Two of the PreseasonOne final look back at the Browns' first preseason game against the Chicago Bears, where the quarterbacks show some positive signs, but there is still a lot ... O-Line Roulette Injuries continue to leave the o-line in constant flux each day. On Tuesday the first group consisted of: :  Dawand Jones at RT, Teven Jenkins at RG, Luke Wypler at C, Zion Johnson at LG, Spencer Fano at LT. There was more shuffling of guys on the second team for a second consecutive day as well. Tyre Phillips at RT, Austin Barber at RG, Wypler at C, Zak Zinter at LG and KT Leveston at LT.  Leveston has now spent back-to-back days getting run at both tackle spots.  Injuries and Absences Still no Joe Royer and before practice Todd Monken said he was hopeful he'd be back, but wasn't going to speculate. DT Maliek Collins is still on the PUP list, but his pre-practice workouts seem to be intensifying.  On a positive note, DT Mike Hall Jr. returned to practice for the first time since the opening week of camp. Alex Wright was also back after missing Monday's session, but only for individual work.  Players not practicing remains lenghty: Carson Schwesinger, Cedric Tillman, D’Angelo Ross, Michael Burton, Parker Brailsford, Tytus Howard, Elgton Jenkins, Jack Stoll, Sam Kamara, Kalia Davis, Dae’Quan Wright Making Monken Mad Monken abruptly ended practice with just under 11 minutes on the clock during the last portion of practice after things got a little too physical for his liking. First, Benton Whitley accidentally made contact with Sanders in the pocket. One play later, DT Adin Huntington lit up Quinshon Judkins, which got him pulled from the drill and a stern talking-to. Those plays seemed to prompt Monken to call it a day just a few moments later. His post-practice remarks to the team included a lot of swearing, as a result.  Play of the Day During some short yardage 11-on-11 work, Sanders dropped a beautiful ball right in the bread basket to Gage Larvadain on a slot fade route. It looked like they communicated to change the route before the play, too. Just really nice stuff all around.

He found himself in the backfield quite a bit, blowing up numerous run plays and generating pressure on the quarterback. At one point, Mike Rutenberg had him rushing off the edge instead of from his normal defensive tackle spot. It was a good first day back for Hall.  Quote of the Day After missing an easy interception during Monday's practice, Denzel Ward was disappointed in himself.  "Man, that was bad. That was a bad one. That was probably my worst one, ever. I gotta get on the jugs after that one, but I definitely wanted that one. Read it perfectly; it was too easy. Too easy. But I'll get the next one."  What's Next? The Browns return the field on Wednesday for Day 16 of training camp and will be in helmets and shorts only, before Thursday's joint practice with Buffalo.
