Clarksville Academy has forfeited its Week 3 TSSAA football game against Grace Christian Academy on Friday in Franklin due to player injuries, extreme heat, and limited player availability. Athletic director Sean Wilson confirmed the forfeit to The Leaf-Chronicle on Wednesday. This is the second time this season that Clarksville Academy has been involved in a forfeited game. Hunters Lane, the Cougars' Week 1 opponent, forfeited its matchup due to not having enough players. Clarksville Academy instead played at Jo Byrns on Aug. 21 and lost 42-0. The game against Grace Christian is a non-region game.
Clarksville Academy faced Fort Campbell in Week 2, falling 44-0. Wilson said the program plans to finish out the season. "Player safety and well-being remain our highest priorities," Wilson said in an email. "Our commitment to the strength and growth of our football program is unshakeable, and we fully intend to complete the remainder of our 2026 schedule as soon as our team can safely return to the field." Clarksville Academy is playing with just 17 players this season, according to its TSSAA-submitted roster. The Cougars are scheduled to travel to two-time defending Division II-Class A state champion Nashville Christian in Week 4 on Sept. 11.
