The Blues midfielder found the back of the net nine minutes into the second half of the second-leg play-off match at Estadio Zubieta to book her side's place in Friday's draw. Chelsea, who have never won the competition, will be drawn against six opponents in the league phase. Following a thumping 5-2 first-leg victory, Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor was able to make four changes to the team that started at Plough Lane last week. The first chance of the game came after 18 minutes when Lauren James and Ellie Carpenter combined down the right, with the latter almost finding Aggie Beever-Jones with a cross. Spanish side Sociedad could have broken the deadlock through Ava Seelenfreund, had it not been for an impressive recovery tackle from Naomi Girma to keep the game goalless. The breakthrough came shortly after the restart when Walsh, who won the Champions League twice during her time at Barcelona, crashed a shot home from distance after a strong start to the second half from the Blues. The victory means Chelsea will join Women's Super League champions Manchester City in Friday's league-phase draw in Nyon.
