Los Angeles will have 10 captains this season, including Justin Herbert, Joe Alt and Derwin James Jr to name a few.

The other Charger captains consist of Khalil Mack, Daiyan Henley, Tuli Tuipulotu, Rashawn Slater, Ladd McConkey, Elijah Molden and Josh Harris.
Four captains are on the offensive side, five are on defense, and one is on special teams.
McConkey, Molden and Tuipulotu are the first-time captains.
Each of those 10 players will play a huge role for the Chargers as they get set to enter a crucial 2026 season. All eyes will be on Herbert, being that he is the undisputed QB1.
On top of that, Herbert will enter yet another season with a new offensive coordinator, Mike McDaniel. The offense and Herbert are expected to take a massive step forward in McDaniel's system.
Mack is the oldest of the bunch. The future Hall of Famer is set to enter his age-35 season, his 13th in the NFL. There's a chance the 2026 season could be Mack's last, and he'll do all he can to take the Chargers into a deep playoff run.
The Chargers are a little over a week away from the start of the season, and they’re counting on these 10 players to go above and beyond for the team.
