The LSU community is still reeling from the loss of Skip Bertman on Friday. The legendary coach that put LSU Baseball on the map and built the foundation of The Powerhouse, passed away peacefully at the age of 88.
On Tuesday, August 25th, both the private and public community will have their opportunity to celebrate the incredible life of Coach Bertman.

The service will begin with a private event for the Bertman family and both current and former players, coaches, and staff members. That portion will take place from 4:30-6:30 pm.
A public celebration will begin at 7 pm and doors will open at approximately 6 pm to allow fans to get inside.
The celebration of life will take place at the PMAC.
Not only was Bertman responsible for 5 national championships and 11 appearances in the College World Series during his 18 years at LSU, but he also extended his legacy as the school’s athletic director. Jay Johnson’s predecessor, Paul Mainieri, is one of four coaches that Bertman hired who went on to win a national championship, which also included Les Miles.
In the meantime, fans are invited to stop by Skip’s statue in Legacy Plaza outside of Alex Box and write a message on the #15 board.
