Leave it to Candace Parker to give fans an unfiltered look at what actually goes down behind closed doors after a WNBA ejection.

DiJonai Carrington was ejected after catching Sophie Cunningham across the head on a fast-break layup, earning a Flagrant 2, during the Indiana Fever’s win over the Chicago Sky.

Drama quickly spilled off the court when Carrington posted “WHITE PRIVILEGE” on social media directly from the locker room. However, Cunningham later dismissed any ill meaning, calling the hit unnecessary while pointing out her own past ejection for similar contact.

Originally, Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White faced severe fan backlash after defending Carrington’s intent. Only to later admit that she didn’t see the foul in real time before claiming Carrington didn’t intentionally target Cunningham’s head.

Candace Parker details what happens with a WNBA ejection

WNBA legend Candace Parker and Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston touched on the incident involving Sophie Cunningham and DiJonai Carrington on their podcast, Post Moves.

And with many wondering exactly how Carrington was able to tweet out mid-game, Parker has dished the dirt on exactly what goes on after an ejection:

“Well, listen, I was the first player ejected on a Tuesday at 8:05. Okay. And when that ejection happened, I did my sprint off the floor because I sprint off the floor. And I went to the back and you kind of just sit down and you look around and you’re like now what do I do? And DJ got ejected pretty early, so she probably had a lot of game.

“I went and took a shower and I kind of like got myself together. Got ready for the plane. I got in an ice bath, ice tub. It was great. Yeah, the full recovery. So I was ready to bounce.

“So, it was it was cool. But, I think it depends. Like, sometimes you’re full of emotion and like mad and whatever, but really, I think the common denominator probably is like a shower. That would be the first thing.”

Candace Parker was rarely ejected in her 16-year WNBA career, but there was one incident in particular.

She is referencing July 22, 2008 (a Tuesday night), when she was ejected as a rookie following a late-game brawl against the Detroit Shock.
