India-Russia aviation ties could see a bigger role for helicopters, with passenger transportation, remote-area connectivity and emergency medical services emerging as key opportunities. In an exclusive conversation, Maxim Adrianov, International Marketing Manager, Russian Helicopters Group, says India has remained a traditional partner for Russia in the helicopter segment, spanning supplies and maintenance. He highlights the potential to expand helicopter-based passenger transport to hard-to-reach areas, drawing parallels with similar programmes in Russia.
Adrianov also points to helicopter EMS as another major opportunity, especially for regions where building hospitals in every small town or village is difficult.
