Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have a long and complicated history dating back to their collegiate years. It’s likely they will be forever linked as members of the same WNBA draft class as well. Though they each have no shortage of other storylines following them around and sparking conversation at all times, it’s always special when these two renew their rivalry. And wouldn’t you know it, Sunday night’s matchup between the Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream provided yet another compelling chapter in the duo’s story. MORE: Caitlin Clark continues exerting WNBA dominance with another historic game With the score tied late in regulation, Reese corralled an offensive rebound and had a great look at a game-winning layup attempt but could not convert. Her teammate, Naz Hillmon, also had a short opportunity to seal a victory and couldn’t capitalize. Mandatory Credit: Colin Hubbard-Imagn Images Credit: IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect (Reuters) Clark reacted to the surprising turn of events and savored her new lease on an overtime opportunity with a joyful expression on her face. Which, of course, was a much different reaction than the one given by Reese. All in all, it was another meme-able moment for the rivalry. Indiana would go on to win, 95-91, in overtime on the strength of Clark’s 26 points. It’s only a regular season game but still a tough pill to swallow for Reese and the Dream. Reese has taken more than her fair share of criticism for a less than ideal field goal percentage during the early years of her career and this prime moment won’t help. — Enjoy free coverage of the top news & trending stories with The Big Lead Newsletter —
