Verse is preparing for the third year of his NFL career, his first with the Browns. He spent his first two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams before they traded him, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick to Cleveland for Myles Garrett.
Cleveland is going through new era after moving on from Garrett, who won two Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2023 and 2025. Verse, a rising defensive star himself, hopes to excite fans with his performances while helping the Browns of them being massive underdogs this year.

“My main focus is the Browns fans and the Browns organization. Respect is a thing that you can’t just get. No one just hands you respect. You have to earn that every week,” Verse said to media on Thursday, per reporter Camryn Justice.

What lies ahead for Jared Verse, Browns this season
Jared Verse certainly has a high ceiling as one of the best young defensive stars in the league. The Browns will look forward to his growth within their side of the ball.Verse started in every game for the Rams in 2025. He racked up 58 tackles, 11 TFL, 7.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and a pass deflection. In the playoffs, he recorded seven tackles, three TFL and a sack. His efforts earned him a Pro Bowl selection, showing his rise as a defensive standout in the NFL.
The Browns will attempt to improve on their 5–12 record from 2025. They also intend to return to the playoffs after a two-year absence, and end their 33-season division title drought, having last won the then-AFC Central in 1989.
Cleveland’s regular season will get underway on the road. They gear up for their clash against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. ET.
