Bravehearts fall short in game 3

Vermont 5, Bravehearts 4: The Bravehearts were rolling in the decisive game three in Burlington, taking a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth. The Lake Monsters, which entered the final frame with only four hits, final found their offense. They smacked five hits and put up four runs as they rallied to stun the Bravehearts. They will face New Britain in the final. Brad Johnson started the ninth with a single and Brenden Walsh walked after Travis Stroh struck out. Justin Yeutter loaded the bases with a single and Bryan Richman lined out to put the Lake Monsters on the brink of elimination. Tyler Wiltsey pulled Vermont to within one with a two-run single to left and Jake Lopez tied it with a single to right. Thomas Moss won the game with a single to short. Joey Hagen got the start for Worcester. He allowed two hits and struck out two in 5⅔ innings of work. Greg Strite entered at the start of the sixth and was doing well. Through the first two innings, he only allowed one hit and fanned three. He was pulled after he gave up the two-run single. Brayden Lewis got the Bravehearts on the board when he drove in Brayden Cali in the third. Lewis was driven in by Alan Carpenter in the sixth to make it 2-0. Lewis would make it 4-0 when he belted a two-run double to center, plating Jacob Malfant and James Anastasopoulos.
