Paris Saint-Germain forwards Bradley Barcola (23) and Ibrahim Mbaye (18) are both absent from Les Parisiens’ squad to face Lens in the Trophée des Champions. The PSG duo are both the subject of interest from Liverpool as the Premier League club look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the closure of the summer transfer window.
The Merseyside outfit have been in active discussions with the Ligue 1 champions over signing both Barcola and Mbaye. However, as of yet, the Reds have been unable to strike an agreement with the French capital club for either of the forwards. PSG are demanding fees in the region of €200m to see the duo leave the Parc des Princes this summer. Nevertheless, with the pair absentees from Luis Enrique’s squad on the hunt for their second trophy of the campaign, it could be sign that they could be on the move.
Barcola and Mbaye out, Torres and Godts in?
Over the weekend, PSG confirmed the arrivals of two new attackers. Mika Godts (21) arrived from Ajax, and World Cup winner Ferran Torres (26) has arrived from Barcelona. With the French club actively recruiting new attackers, Liverpool could be set to take advantage of a surplus of options in Paris, seeing the club needing to sell.
