Rudy Martin Jr. has been waiting 12 years for the call he received this week.

The journeyman outfielder, a 25th-round draft pick by the Kansas City Royals in 2014, is headed to the big leagues. According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, the Toronto Blue Jays will select his contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday, Sept. 11.

Martin, 30, has played for three different organizations this season. He slashed .253/.351/.379 with 12 stolen bases in 13 attempts for the Blue Jays’ top farm team after they claimed him off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles in July.
