Beat writer keeping tabs on Vikings' WR closing in on record

As we are now in the month of September, that means football is upon us. The offseason is long gone, the preseason is complete, and 53-man rosters are in place as coaches prepare for Week 1 opponents. With all that in the rearview mirror, we get to look at some final power rankings before all that shuffling begins with wins and losses affecting things. The latest rankings are from ESPN and their group of beat writers. They ranked the Vikings 22nd after an offseason and preseason that was confusing, yet predictable, at times for a team looking to win the NFC North. However, within those rankings, ESPN's Kevin Seifert highlighted a milestone for folks to watch. The one he went with is in regard to Justin Jefferson and how he is approaching something notable currently held by Randy Moss. He is watching for the current All-Pro to surpass the former All-Pro's record for the most 100-yard games in the first seven seasons of a career. He writes, "Of all the milestones Jefferson could potentially hit in 2026, this one is perhaps most relevant to the Vikings' season. Jefferson managed only three 100-yard games last season, a career low, as the offense struggled in 12 starts by quarterbacks J.J. McCarthy and Max Brosmer. Increasing that total with new quarterback Kyler Murray would signify a return of Minnesota's previous offensive firepower under coach Kevin O'Connell. Jefferson is five away from eclipsing Moss' 41." ESPN's Mike Clay is projecting Jefferson to finish the season with 1,373 receicing yards, he should have five 100-yard games in there, right?
