Falk confirms United’s interest in Kim (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)

Rumors linking Bayern Munich center-back Kim Min-jae to Manchester United might be legitimate as the Red Devils appear to really like the big South Korean. However, that does not mean that Bayern Munich or Kim would actually want to make the move:

✅ It is TRUE: There is some truth to reports around Manchester United’s interest in Min-jae Kim. As I’ve mentioned with Bayern Insider previously, the South Korean international is on the list at United. They’re always looking at his situation at Bayern Munich. That said, Min-jae Kim is very clear at the moment that he wants to stay at Bayern and he’s fine with his current role at the club. He’s not in the starting XI at the moment, but he has a chance to get there if he’s playing well and, of course, if injuries strike. So, Kim wants to see if he can push back into the team. It’s not like he’s so disappointed that he wants to force a move, and this is a very good situation for Bayern Munich, as they’re fully aware they can’t rely on just two senior centre-backs for an entire season. Having a player like Kim available is critical if they want to go far in all competitions – especially in the Champions League.

Remember, succeeding in Europe is a big target for Bayern Munich. Vincent Kompany made it clear that Bayern want to do better than they did last term. The target is winning the competition. I can’t remember this aim ever being so clearly formalised by the head coach as Kompany did. So, you see, they need a really good squad and they need high-quality options like Min-jae Kim. So, whatever way you look at it, it’s a good thing that he’s staying.

Kim is settled in with his No. 3 role in Bavaria and Bayern Munich seems to want to keep him around, so it feels like Manchester United’s desire to bring in the center-back will not amount to anything.

Gakpo getting close to Spurs move (ESPN)

Things seem to be closer and closer for Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo to make a move to Tottenham Hotspur:

Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo is closing in on a move to Tottenham, as Nicolo Schira reports that he is “one step away” from a switch. The 27-year-old signed a new deal with the Reds last year, which runs until 2030, but could leave soon after manager Arne Slot was sacked at the end of last season and replaced by Andoni Iraola. Personal terms have already been agreed, but talks are underway between Spurs and Liverpool over a fee for the Netherlands international that could reach £70 million.

BVB close to signing duo of young stars? (Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano)

Borussia Dortmund is bringing in PSV Eindhoven central midfielder Joey Veerman:

🚨🟡⚫️ Joey Veerman to Borussia Dortmund, here we go! Deal agreed for €21.5m from PSV Eindhoven.

Five year contract and medical booked for the midfielder who’s set to leave PSV.

Veerman will undergo his medical tomorrow, as @RikElfrink reports.

Sky Germany journalist Patrick Berger also added an update on BVB’s pursuit of Giannis Konstantelias:

🚨⚫️🟡 #BVB on the verge of signing Giannis Konstantelias (23/🇬🇷). The Greek international is flying from Thessaloniki to Dortmund now, as @gazzetta_gr first reported. ✈️

Final negotiations underway between clubs, but no full agreement reached yet. Talks ongoing as clubs look to find a breakthrough. Transfer fee expected to be around €25-30m. 💰

BVB want Konstantelias after the El Mala deal collapsed. The player has already agreed to a long-term contract with Dortmund. @SkySportDE

Borussia Dortmund is seeking ways to improve its squad and the club is getting creative. Will the newcomers help Niko Kovač be able to put together a challenge to Bayern Munich?

Barca getting close to Rodri move (Marca)

FC Barcelona is slowly, but surely getting closer to a move for Manchester City defensive midfielder Rodri:

Barcelona and Manchester City are continuing negotiations for Rodri’s transfer. Talks began last week after the player rejected Real Madrid and chose the Catalan club as his destination. City intended to renew his contract but wanted to respect the player’s wishes, which was to move to Camp Nou. The English club was also clear that they wouldn’t let him go for a pittance and valued his transfer at €80 million.

Barcelona made an initial offer that fell far short of City’s demands: around €50 million, which was immediately rejected. Deco and Hugo Viana, the sporting directors of both clubs, have held several talks to try and reach an agreement. However, Barcelona’s second offer was also rejected. Although it increased by about €10 million, City still considered it insufficient.

In the last few hours, a third offer has been made that comes closer to the English club’s demands. According to various sources, this proposal could reach €70 million plus bonuses.

LFC ready to get deal done for Barcola (ESPN)

If Cody Gakpo leaves Liverpool, it could help the Reds expedite their efforts to bring in Paris Saint-Germain attacker Bradley Barcola:

Liverpool are ready to make another move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, after the French club signed Ajax’s Mika Godts for €45 million, says The Standard. Barcola, 23, has slipped down the pecking order in Paris as the club have opted to bring in Godts, Maghnes Akliouche and Ferran Torres for a combined €150 million to bolster their attack. Barcola was an unused substitute during PSG’s 2-1 victory over Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup this week, and manager Luis Enrique said afterwards that “when a player doesn’t have a smile when coming here, it’s better to look for another solution.” Sources have told ESPN that the France international is top of Liverpool’s wishlist in their pursuit of a wide forward this summer, and that the club have held preliminary talks with his representatives; Arsenal have also been linked, but PSG want a fee of around €150 million.

Bayern attempting to rally BuLi clubs for internationalization efforts (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)

If you were wondering, Bayern Munich is, indeed, going to take a leadership role with other Bundesliga clubs to promote and market the league better globally:

✅ It is TRUE: Bayern Munich are urging their domestic rivals to help them in their mission to promote the Bundesliga overseas. FC Bayern are acutely aware of how often Premier League clubs are travelling to Asia and the United States, making money for the league – which explains, in part, why the Premier League can rely on huge broadcast revenue. By comparison, the Bundesliga’s TV revenue is paltry. And you can see why when only Bayern and Borussia Dortmund travelled abroad for their pre-season tours. Jan-Christian Dreesen and Bayern’s marketing director, Rouven Kasper, have been fighting to change this. But in the end, it always depends on which clubs are travelling; if it’s the “wrong club”, which isn’t so famous, then this will take money from the league’s central pot, which Bayern also draw from. So, it’s always a question of earning money.

To be honest, Bayern didn’t earn so much money from their Asia trip. You have the associated costs, the stadium isn’t always full, and you don’t have massive TV revenue. It’s just to make the Bundesliga more commercially appealing, but this is important to ensure that German football continues to attract new fans from additional territories.

Big interest in Endrick (ESPN)

Is Endrick going to get serious about a move away from Real Madrid? If so, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, and Fulham are all reportedly interested:

Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Fulham have all held conversations about Real Madrid striker Endrick, according to TEAMtalk. The 20-year-old is weighing up his future having grown frustrated by a lack of first-team prospects at the Bernabéu, especially after the signings of Carlos Espí and Yan Diomande. England is the Brazil international’s preferred destination if he leaves Spain and his camp is discussing what a departure could look like with Real Madrid.
