Barcelona remain confident of completing the signing of Rodri despite Manchester City rejecting their first two offers for the Spanish midfielder.

According to Nil Sola, Manchester City have made it clear that an offer of €60 million alone will not be enough to secure Rodri’s departure.

However, Barcelona believe a package worth €60 million in guaranteed fees plus €10 million in add-ons could finally convince the Premier League side.

The two clubs remain some distance apart, but there is growing confidence that a compromise can be reached.

Barcelona are now preparing what could be their third and final offer, with Rodri’s move to the Spotify Camp Nou still strongly on the agenda.

Notably, Barcelona have already made two attempts to sign Rodri this summer.

Their opening proposal was worth between €45 million and €50 million, but Manchester City quickly rejected the offer as it fell below their valuation.

Barcelona then returned with an improved package of around €60 million. That second attempt was also unsuccessful, with City making it clear that they expect a higher overall fee before considering the midfielder’s departure.

Now, according to the latest update, Manchester City are targeting a deal worth around €70 million.

That does not necessarily mean Barcelona must pay the entire amount upfront.

Rather, a structure of €60 million in fixed fees and €10 million in performance-related add-ons could be enough to bridge the gap between the two clubs.

Barcelona’s strategy appears to be centred on reaching City’s valuation without increasing the guaranteed portion of the transfer fee beyond €60 million.

Barcelona believe third bid could seal agreement

Despite having two offers rejected, Barcelona have not lost confidence in their pursuit of Rodri.

Both sides remain optimistic that an agreement can eventually be reached, with Barça now working towards a third proposal that could be their final attempt.

The planned offer would reportedly total €70 million, consisting of €60 million guaranteed and a further €10 million in add-ons.
