For FC Bayern Women, the debut at Sportpark Unterhaching – marked by a 2–0 victory over Paris FC and an attendance of over 6,000 – was more than just a sporting success; it also served as a significant step in the dialogue with the fan community. Before kick-off, fan clubs, fan representatives and FC Bayern officials. including director Bianca Rech, gathered for a discussion. The aim of the meeting was to speak openly about the redevelopment, the future in the new stadium and the fans' wishes, in order to shape this new home together from the very start.

Evidence of initial steps already implemented at the Sportpark is visible today: features unveiled include a newly designated area on the standing terrace for the active fans, a new and larger video screen, and initial renovations to kiosks and sanitary facilities. These are complemented by ongoing technical upgrades, such as modern floodlight systems and improved ball-stop netting. Further measures will follow in the coming months, including a new pitch and the renovation of sections of the stands. The long-term vision is to transform the Sportpark into a stadium perfectly tailored to the needs of the Bayern women’s team and their growing, diverse fan base.

It was stated clearly from the outset that this process would require a settling-in period. Fan feedback from the initial matches is highly welcome and essential for further development. Accordingly, fans took the opportunity to provide constructive feedback, covering everything from infrastructure for active fan culture and the overall stadium experience to issues regarding inclusion. Particular emphasis was placed on topics such as sufficient and well-positioned wheelchair spaces, accessible toilets and kiosks, and barrier-free communication. Travel and service – ranging from parking facilities for fan buses and fans with disabilities to public transport connections – were also discussed in depth.

This dialogue on equal terms underscores FC Bayern’s philosophy of involving fans at an early stage. All suggestions and ideas were carefully noted and are being incorporated into the medium- and long-term plans for the Sportpark. The meeting was rounded off with a meet-and-greet with Sarah Zadrazil and Lena Oberdorf, who offered fans fascinating insights into their expectations for the new home ground, their return to the pitch following injuries and the importance of support from the stands. At the same time, active fan clubs hosted their own stand at the Fan Festival, inviting participation and sending a strong signal of a vibrant, open and growing fan culture at the new home of FC Bayern Women.
