The scene is set for the final road racing events in the Isle of Man's motorcycling calendar.

The opening qualifying for the Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix (MGP) gets under way with a speed-controlled lap for newcomers at 13:30 BST on Sunday.

The Classic TT sees some of the top riders in the sport, including Michael Dunlop, Davey Todd, Dean Harrison and John McGuinness, swap modern bikes for older machinery.

Meanwhile the MGP, which runs in parallel on the 37.7 mile (61km) Mountain Course, has traditionally been seen as a feeder event for the Isle of Man TT, held on the same course in June each year.

People have been urged to be aware of the road closures during the event, which runs from 16 to 28 August.

Contingency periods have been built into the schedule during both the qualifying and race weeks in case any of the sessions are disrupted by poor weather or other factors.
