Arsenal Are In The Running To Land This Bundesliga Defender: Good Fit For Arteta?

In a recent post on X, journalist Ekrem Konur mentioned that Arsenal are in the running to land Bayer 04 Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah this summer. It has been claimed that the Gunners would have to compete with Manchester United in the race to sign the English talent this off-season.

Quansah’s Impressive Form In The Bundesliga

Quansah enjoyed a good run of form at the German club in the previous campaign when he put in a run of solid performances for them on the defensive end of the field. The English defensive ace made 28 league appearances for Bayer 04 Leverkusen last season, scoring four goals in the process.

The 23-year-old is currently one of the most talented centre-backs in the Bundesliga. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Gunners are in the mix to secure his services this off-season.

His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Arsenal to sign him on a cut-price deal in this transfer window.

Will Quansah Be A Good Fit For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?

Quansah is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is proficient at playing his way out from the back.

Standing at 1.90m, the English sensation can use his strong frame to win a few aerial duels for his team. Quansah is primarily a centre-back but can also serve as a right-back if told to do so. He already knows the Premier League well from his time at Liverpool and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Arsenal if they manage to snap him up this summer.

We can expect Quansah to bring more quality and depth to Mikel Arteta’s backline. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting role at the Emirates Stadium.

At 23, the future looks quite promising for Quansah as long as he continues to improve with each year. He will also serve as an ideal replacement for William Saliba, who is currently sidelined due to injury. All in all, Quansah would be a decent fit for Arteta’s needs this month.
