The Arizona Cardinals played almost all their starters on Thursday in their 27-14 preseason win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The only starters who didn't get any snaps were Josh Sweat (on PUP) and Budda Baker.

With how the starting lineups looked, we seem to have a better picture for some of the starting battles at certain positions.

Based on what we saw on Thursday, here is what we know at key position battles.

Running back

While we know that Jeremiyah Love and Tyler Allgeier will both play a lot and both run the ball, Love played 24 snaps to Allgeier's six. Love touched the ball 14, Allgeier had four touches.

Love started the game. Allgeier came off the bench.

Part of that was to give the rookie some playing time, but while Allgeier has often been the first back on the first-team offense in practices, Love will perhaps be the main starter.

Right guard

This hasn't changed all offseason. Isaiah Adams remains in the starting lineup, and that competition might be over because rookie Chase Bisontis injured his knee on Thursday and will likely miss at least part of the season.

Inside linebacker

The competition for the starting job alongside Mack Wilson has been between 2025 fifth-round pick Cody Simon, who started the final nine games of last season, and free agent addition Jack Gibbens.

On Thursday against the Raiders, Gibbens was in the starting lineup with Wilson. Simon came in after Wilson left the game. Simon and Gibbens have mostly been splitting reps in practice, but it has been shifting toward Gibbens.

Cornerback

In the battle for the No. 2 cornerback between Max Melton and Denzel Burke, Burke is in the lead. he was on the field to start the game with Will Johnson. Melton came in after Johnson played 17 snaps.

Safety

Budda Baker is clearly one starter. The battle has been between Dadrion Taylor-Demerson and Andrew Wingard. Wingard and Taylor-Demerson were the starters, as Baker did not suit up, but Wingard came out with other starters after 10 snaps, while Taylor-Demerson stayed in the game to play alongside Kitan Crawford, logging 29 snaps.

Wingard is the favorite to earn the starting job.
