Less than six weeks removed from a high-profile arrest, former UFC title challenger Anthony Smith has been booked for a fight.
Smith (37-22) will compete in the next round of the ongoing Gamebred Bare Knuckle MMA heavyweight tournament when he takes on Jordan Heiderman (7-2) in the semifinal round on Oct. 2 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (DAZN).
The promotion, headed by former UFC BMF champion Jorge Masvidal, issued a statement on the controversial nature of booking Smith after he was arrested on three felony charges of domestic violence in July, which he has since pled not guilty to while publicly reuniting with his family.
