Analyst does not believe this is the end for J.J. McCarthy in the NFL

The Vikings quarterback battle did not even make it to the first preseason game. After weeks of build-up, OTAs, and training camp practices, we have now arrived at a decision on the starter by head coach Kevin O'Connell. On Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings named Kyler Murray as their starting quarterback for the start of the regular season. ESPN's Adam Schefter was the first to report the news of the decision. With Murray being named the starter, that leaves McCarthy as the odd man out. There is a lot of speculation as to what is next for the former top pick of the franchise. One analyst, ESPN's Booger McFarland, offered up his thoughts, and they were a better picture than most have painted this week. He explained, "I do not think, by no stretch of the imagination, is the J.J. McCarthy story over. As a matter of fact, I still think it's just beginning." A lot of people may be out on him with the Vikings, but he certainly has more of a career ahead of him. The talent is there, and we have seen quarterbacks stick around the NFL for years after an initial landing spot didn't work out. There is no reason why that can't be the same for McCarthy.
