Aaron Donald’s potential return to the Los Angeles Rams has gone from an exciting possibility to a waiting game that is testing fans’ patience.
The 35-year-old defensive legend completed a second official workout at the Rams’ facility, once again fueling speculation that he could make a stunning comeback. But with no contract yet, some fans are starting to wonder how much longer this saga can continue.

Donald’s second workout included defensive-line drills with defensive line coach Giff Smith, members of the Rams’ strength staff, and his personal trainer, DeWayne Brown.
Because Donald used Rams facilities and team equipment, the workout had to be reported as an official tryout on the NFL transaction wire.
That was enough to reignite speculation about a comeback, but it also produced a wave of frustration from fans who have been following the story closely.
NFL insider John Frascella captured the growing fatigue with the saga: “Am I the only one who is getting tired of this?”

Barry, however, continued to see the potential comeback as a sarcastic feel-good story and encouraged the Rams to give Donald a chance: “This could be one of the greatest underdog stories ever. A completely unknown 35-year-old Communications major from the University of Pittsburgh could potentially make the Rams roster. I hope they give him a chance.”
NBC Los Angeles sports anchor Olivia Garvey was also eager for some clarity: “No rush- but can we know by tomorrow, please.”
MajorHawksCoverage had even less patience, calling for the Rams to make the move already: “Ohh my god just sign already.”
Graphk Raider, host of the OLV Raiders Network Podcast, summed up how the prolonged process has changed the mood around the comeback: “I thought this was so cool initially; now not so much.”
Rams Face Decisions Beyond the Hype
A potential Donald return isn’t as simple as signing a legendary player and putting him back on the field.
General manager Les Snead would have to work through the roster and salary cap implications, including how to handle Donald’s $30 million cap hit.
There is also the question of how much Donald could realistically play after spending more than two years away from the NFL.
Even if he returns, the Rams would likely ease him into action rather than immediately giving him a full workload. A carefully managed role would allow Donald to preserve his energy for the most important stretch of the season.
