Alabama high school football is back in the Montgomery area, with local teams kicking off the 2026 AHSAA football season with Week 0 action.
Teams will open the season with non-region play in Week 0, the Montgomery Advertiser has the complete schedule for Week 0 in the River Region.

Most of the Montgomery area football programs are available to stream on the NFHS Network. It is a subscription service that cost $13.99 but gives to access to all content on the site, across all sports.
It is up to the schools to provide the stream, so it's not a guarantee that all games in all sports are available but most area schools look to have at least some football games on the site.
